Cate Anderson has a secret. A+ Student, SPCA volunteer, and on-line gamer, but festering under the surface lies an undeniable truth. Cate has Achluophobia, an inexplicable fear of the dark.

Cate lives an ordinary life, attending University and experiencing the ups and downs of flatting. Unfortunately for her, a paralyzing fear of the dark is never far from her mind.

A history assignment about mental health facilities sparks the interest of her flatmate, Mark. Fascinated by tragedy and crazy people, Mark becomes obsessed with the story of Lakewood Lunatic Asylum. Lakewood housed all manner of insane, crazy and unfortunate souls before being partially destroyed by a terrible fire. After noticing a discrepancy in the official records, Mark convinces Cate and their friend, Jeremy to join him on a field trip to the abandoned Asylum.

When a prank goes horribly wrong, the three friends become trapped inside the Asylum. As the sun sets, Cate and her friends desperately search for a way out, slowly coming to realise that they are not alone. Something menacing still lurks in the shadows of Lakewood Lunatic Asylum. As midnight approaches the forgotten souls come out to play. Fear takes hold … because at Lakewood escape is impossible.

Inspired by something I read once and brought to you by Ziggle Media, Asylum is the story of a young woman and her morbid fear of the dark.
