Looking into the water below him, all Sean could think about was his home. On a sunny day like today he'd be drinking with his friends, chasing girls- having fun. But while he is suspended 20 feet above a lake, home never felt further away. Boarding school, his parents; everything seemed like a blur after the plane he was travelling on fell out of the sky. He reached to his pocket and found the knife that had been thrust into his hands before they plummeted. How could things have gone so wrong? He had to cut the cords attaching him to the parachute. The knife slid open and he reached above his head. His hands were trembling, he couldn't keep focused and the knife fell out of his sweaty hands. The sound echoed as the knife sliced through the clear waters below him. His tears followed it into the lake as his heart sank to the bottom of his stomach; thoughts of his home, his life, flooded his insides. He could do nothing. Stuck in mid air feeling helpless for himself, in the middle of the nowhere, with no more survival skills than a private school education. It’s a lonely place in the wilderness, and Sean needs to grow up fast to survive.
