It's the early 90's. Thirty-two-year-old Jason still works in the local video store. As he becomes more aware of VHS piracy, he turns anti-bootleg vigilante fueled by his patriotism for the film industry and a subconscious filled with over-watched cop movies.
Meanwhile, nice-guy Ray is fired from his projectionist job at the town's cinema. To pay for his dying wife's healthcare, he comes up with the elaborate scheme of breaking into his old work and camming the latest motion-pictures before they are released that week.
With the whole town pouring money into his pocket, Ray finally has his life in check. But a sequel to Jason's favourite ever film isn't far away, and he'll do anything to save it . . .
