Joe “The Sniper” Bartley, former Rugby Great, infamous for his dirty play and acts of debauchery off the field, is looking for love and a distraction to his dead end job. He meets Caroline - a hot minx in leopard skin pants – and falls in love.

To marry the girl, Joe needs to win the approval of her hard assed old man first. After following Joe’s rebellious career the Father’s disapproval of Joe can only be matched by his life long obsession with Lawn Bowling. Joe quick to rise to the challenge ends up competing for Caroline’s hand in the Auckland Bowling Cup against the cocky Lawn Bowling Mega Star Sebastian Schmidt – whose cunning tactics and charm make him a worthy foe in the battle for Caroline's heart.

With a team of misfits and a series of unfortunate events unfolding, Joe’s chances of beating the bowling baron and winning the girl start to fade. Bowling for Caroline is full of hilarious quirks from 1980's NZ, and is a classic David vs. Goliath story, where love must conquer against all odds.
