Broken Horses

A “Underground Kite” FILM
WRITTEN BY Nathan Mills

Michael is an executive for a mining company, sent to Miller's Crossing in the far north to negotiate the cleanup of a recently closed mine. He is greeted with suspicion and resentment as the company was the subject of a failed court case by former workers who suffered illness and even death from chemicals in the mine.
Michael finds a local woman, Julia, has established a program training wild horses on the site of the old mine, employing local youth and giving focus and pride to the battered community.
Willis Mining insists on evicting Julia and her charges however, and after an ugly confrontation, Michael is involved in a minor accident in the town. Sentenced by the local judge to community service assisting Julia with her horses, Michael comes to realise just what it means to the town.
Torn between his duty to his employer, and a growing love for Julia and Millers Crossing, matters come to a fiery conclusion when Michael uncovers shocking evidence of corporate sin that will tear the town apart.
