Derek Smart is a cop with his finger on the pulse of the South Auckland beat. After leaving his hat at church the night before his loving wife embarks on a simple errand of retrieval on her way to dropping their daughter off at school. She hears a low rumble reverberate through the hallowed walls.

Demolition is a fact of life for busy downtown Auckland, but this Monday morning something is... different. Something is very wrong.

One by one the buildings fall to its crushing blade and with no end in sight an ordinary community constable suffers an unbearable loss and makes it his mission to unravel the mystery of BULLDOZER and bring it to justice.

The nation comes to a standstill as the story unfolds. This is no ordinary bulldozer - there's no driver at the wheel.

From the beehive bunker an evacuation is ordered. The military is brought in to deal to the downtown Danger Zone while the police are tasked with marshalling the evacuation of the city. Follow a team of New Zealand's top professional journalists as they cover this catastrophic event, unprecedented in the history of man. Follow Derek as he disobeys orders and goes mano a máquina. The nation watches as Derek becomes a national hero, and he doesn't even know it.
