A “Everything Sticks Film Collective” FILM

Future New Zealand is affluent, powerful and populated. The once proud city of Christchurch, however, has become a desolate place after being ripped apart by the massive Alpine Fault Quake of 2025. No longer concerned with rebuilds and recovery, the government has long since washed its hands of the region; quarantining it behind a state-of-the-art force field on all of its borders.

While most of Christchurch’s population evacuated in line with government instructions, many chose to remain, including a significant criminal element determined to have a “kingdom” of their own. Most of those loyal but naive citizens found themselves trapped and at the mercy of a ruthless underworld who have used these people as their own personal labour force. The violent environment conveniently became the perfect place for the government to relocate those considered “enemies of the nation” - namely those who know too much.

When Police Detective Steve Saunders and his partner crack a drug ring that incriminates prominent celebrities his commendation party ends with him waking up looking at the ruins of the Christchurch Cathedral.

As he fights for a means of escape he gets help from a friendly group of survivors and learns of something else that has been uncovered by the damage to the city’s surface – a mineral that makes people bigger, stronger and faster.

Saunders must decide where his loyalties lie as the combined forces of the city unite and launch an attack on those who betrayed him and left the city of Christchurch behind.
