On the morning of his parole from prison, Danny White hears the news from his family home town Dargaville of the drowning of his sister’s 13 year old daughter. Allowed 48 hours leave to attend her funeral, he is sickened to discover she was a heroin addict. His niece’s only friend reveals to Danny how bad things had got for her, he takes it upon himself to piece back through his nieces last days of crime, sexual favours and drug addiction. Danny’s hunt for the culprits make the local community, the law, old lovers and even his own family close ranks against him. Ignoring the threats and abuse and finally a warning that his old life is about to catch up with him, Danny passes the point of no return when a gang of thugs from his prison days arrive in town with a score to settle. Driven by his own code of justice, he takes them on in brutal showdown but is forced to seek help from the very people who he suspects contributed to his niece’s downfall. If Danny isn’t very… very careful, he could destroy everything and everyone he wants to protect in the shocking conclusion.
