His father, trying to collect money for the overdue bills was killed trying to rob the local bank.
When it all seems too much and life feels like it’s not worth living, he meets Jack a grumpy 78year old locksmith whose life is also on a downward spiral
The unlikely duo become close friends, William is always bunking school to spend the day with the locksmith and Jack becomes the missing father figure William pines for.
After a few months things become complicated when old Jack uncovers Williams plot to get the house back and release his mother from her oppressive job...

As the trust between them falters the two become estranged, Young William cannot understand why the locksmith thinks it’s a ridiculous plan and Jack worries the inevitable unsuccessful bank robbery could destroy the young boys life.
