Elliot is an odd child, twelve and small for his age he spends more time at church than watching TV. It has become a refuge from life, the bullies at school, and his workaholic father who’d rather shear sheep, than share dinner with his son. Most importantly church is the only place where Elliot can talk to his mum.

But his world is about to change with the arrival of a new Priest. He swears, he blasphemes, he drinks from the still that bubbles in the rectory. This is no ordinary Priest. Elliot is furious that his Church has been defiled. An unlikely bond is forged when Elliot pulls the unconscious Priest from the burning rectory. Soon Elliot is learning more about Pall Mall, Moonshine and women than the bible.

The new Priest’s arrival has the town's rumour mill going into overdrive. Women have been seen leaving the Church late at night. There’s the smell of spirits coming from the rectory and dirty magazines have gone missing from the local store. Then there’s the abnormal amount of time he’s been spending with Elliot.

Elliot’s father is woken from his paternal slumber by the smell of a sex scandal. A confrontation is eminent but just what Elliot’s father finds might not to be so sinister after all. It may even bring them closer together and help reconnect them as father and son.
