Penny has just lost Anaru, the love of her life. In her grief she is inspired to take his ashes (in his beloved "Waka" Mini) to Cape Reinga to honour his cultural heritage and in turn let go of the life they once shared. Kat has just left a dead end relationship and decides that herself and her young daughter, Pip, would like to join Penny's road trip from bleak Invercargill to the beautiful tip of the North Island. On the way they experience some hair raising adventure, make some interesting (bizarre) acquaintances and discover that love is something that never truly dies. This film is a tribute to the strength of Kiwi women, the beauty of our island nation, and pays homage to an old kiwi classic "goodbye pork pie" through the use of a little yellow mini as the feature car of choice for the long chaotic journey upwards and beyond!
