A light hearted comedy/drama about a group of 5 fit, healthy and gutsy pensioners, all great childhood friends in their 60’s to 70’s, totally bored with retirement home life, lawn bowls, chess and crochet.
While on a beach power walk discussing their twilight years and what they have left to look forward to, the “Old Boys” charismatic leader convinces the gang to fake their own deaths to allow themselves to commit a series of perfect bank deposit drop box robberies to fund the round the world cruise that they all always dreamed of, but their mean and selfish children have spitefully vetoed for years.
In secret, they mastermind a fool proof plan using good old Kiwi staunghness and back to basic smarts paired with a bit of comic modern technological know-how and; with a little help from a sympathetic care home staff member, a local understanding mortician and lifelong doctor friend, fake their own deaths, fooling the families and carry out their ingenious scam/robberies.
