HOME BOYs

A “Big Tea Productions” FILM
WRITTEN BY Tipene R. Mcilroy

Richard, a security officer from Auckland receives a txt message reading a time and place, curious about the message he travels and arrives at the location. A funeral is taking place and to his surprise, he meets his long time childhood friends who in fact have also received the same txt message.
He is told that the funeral is for Marcus their childhood gang leader, so without hesitation Richard tells the other three men to help steal the cremated ashes of Marcus and travel across the country to spread them at their childhood prison (a boy’s home on Stewart Island).
embarking on this road trip memories of the past spring up as uneasy questions are asked about each other, and their bonds are tested as each person remembers who they were and how much has changed, from the first day they met at the boy’s home to the day that they planed their escape.
