Close to death and lost in a remote range of snowy peaks, veteran climber James had given up hope.
Lucky, then, that he's just stumbled across a four-star hotel on the side of a mountain.
Constructed mostly out of 747 wreckage and run by the sole survivor from the crash, Hotel Avalanche is a luxury base camp with a clientele of lost climber residents. Complete with bar, restaurant and spa, James is told he can pay for his room by taking on the job of leopard hunter.
Frustrated with how jaded and settled the other climbers at the hotel have become, James remains determined to reunite with his girlfriend and family. He proposes that they organise an expedition back to civilisation, but finds that the hotel manager has already arranged a team for the same purpose.
Out hunting a week later, James comes across a member of the expedition, bludgeoned to death.
Together with the barman, a famous missing mountaineer, they attract the watchful eye of the manager as they start to uncover the terrible truth behind his high-altitude hideaway.
James' girlfriend has meanwhile been planning a daring rescue operation. Seeking out an old climber, now living in hiding, who had survived for four months in the same mountain range, she learns the dark history of this mysterious hotel - and its connection to a sinister mountaineering society.
