Chelsea had all her life been told 'Your'e just like your Mum', she'd been proud of that. Her Mum has always been her best friend. Chelsea has travelled the world over and over, while her Mum has never been to the South Island. While Chelsea is galavanting around the world and back having adventures, her Mum stayed home and nursed her sick Dad, for more than twenty years. It was a sad farewell, but after a time the family decided it was time Mum had a life of her own. And Chelsea is gonna show her how it is done.
Almost one year to the day after his leaving the world, Chelsea is home to take her Mum on their long promised fabulous holiday.
From the moment they get on the Newman's bus, it is clear, these two are no- where near alike. As they go further on their road trip down the Island, they meet more family members to deepen the divide. Even the weather conspires to make this one hell of a holiday.
