LADYBOY

A “RowoxMedia/Imago Dei” FILM
WRITTEN BY Rowan Sharp and Luke McKoy

Mr and Mrs Luke Weaver are blessed with a healthy baby, but the child is a “true hermaphrodite”, an incredibly rare condition. Terrified of the social implications at first, the Weavers go see a specialist who convinces them to raise their child as gender neutral until puberty. Naming hir Casey Justice, the family moves to Pan Trancisco to be closer to their
specialist, Dr Kiran Ray.

At the age of four, Casey's parents decide to tell hir the truth about hir gender. But fearful of how an ignorant world will treat hir, they tell hir that the truth must stay private. Casey is led to believe hir secret is that of a superhero, a 'secret identity' that cannot be revealed to anybody. So by day Casey is a boy, but by night, in the safety of hir home, Casey is free to be hirself. For nine years the Weaver family keep this secret, until Casey entrusts it to hir best friend. He quickly betrays that trust, humiliating hir in front of their classmates. Before the damage can be repaired, Casey's parents are killed and Casey is sent to live with hir Aunt on a farm.

Pan Trancisco - some years later - the Castrato District's androgynous citizens are disappearing. Most reappear days later, battered, violated and drugged – some are found dead. The PTPD are clueless and couldn’t care less. Only a masked vigilante, named by the public as Ladyboy, is willing and able to find the killers and bring them to justice.
