Le Journal is a compelling story about destiny and choice. Danny Rubin, a man comfortable in his over-organised life is forced to reevaluate his existence by the sudden appearance of a journal that seems to predict the future, one day at a time.
In trying to avoid the fates alluded to in Le Journal, Danny creates a compelling tale exploring his loss of control and the change in relationships between Danny, his colleagues, and friends. Their ties are pushed to the limit as his behaviour becomes ever more erratic attempting to avoid the prophetic notes in the journal.
With help from an unexpected quarter, Danny attempts to discover a secret love hinted at in the book and come to terms with the unpredictable Journal’s demands. But can he avoid the final fate of Le Journal’s last entry?
With a twist of the supernatural Le Journal is a mysterious romance viewable by young and old asking the deep questions about life. Anyone who‘s ever asked, “Do I have a destiny?” will be intrigued by the questions posed in this screenplay and entertained by the sardonic treatment of life’s big questions.
Likened to Primer(2004) and inspired by Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulan(2001) Le Journal will draw it’s audience from many demographics. A limited cast and modern setting ensures production costs can be kept to a minimum and a strong focus on quality can be maintained.
