NADEZDA

A “L. Leboeuf” FILM
WRITTEN BY Lise Leboeuf

Kate, 25, decides to stay for in Wellington a few months. She works on construction sites and shares a house with some Samoan colleagues and her dog, Oscar. While working in an upper class neighborhood of the capital, Kate meets Nadezda, the only daughter of the Czech ambassador in New Zealand.
Despite their difference in social status, a relationship develops between the girl and Kate. Getaways and improvised barbecues become part of their daily lives and they soon fall in love. When Nadezda’s father discovers the homosexual relationship of his daughter, he locks her in his residence.
After several unsuccessful attempts, Douglas enters the house, disguised as a barmaid at a reception ; but Nadezda has already been sent to a private school in Melbourne.
Affected by the sadness of their friend, the Kate’s Samoan friends contribute to buying her a flight to Melbourne, so that she can be united with her young lover. Will Kate find Nadizda and convince her that they should stay together?
