The Grunts are a hapless, aging local band.
In 2004 they made it to number six on the
student radio charts, but those glory days are
well behind them.

They now play the same old Auckland
venues to ever-diminishing and indifferent
audiences. Their songs are great, but their
passion has dissipated over the years and
performances can only be described as
'lacklustre'.

Any chance of success is further eroded by
the realities and obligations of adult life.
Family and friends are supportive, but less so
as the years go by.

Finally, after the indignity of supporting a
bunch of 16 yr old school kids, the band
reach an impasse ...
