A “Manic” FILM

This found-footage tale with a twist depicts the story of teens Jack and Sarah, who are invited to a bach on the Coromandel for the weekend with three of their friends - one of whom requests they all bring a hands-free camera to assist with his mockumentary project his media school assigned him. The footage captures Jack and Sarah's wit and charm, coupled with the apparent kindness and quirkiness of their friends, which allows everyone to become comfortable with each other. But just as minor tensions form in the group, an unknown human assailant, wearing a camera, begins terrorizing the group in violent outbursts, while swiftly-changing, first-person camera angles build skin-crawling tension. And as the characters so carefully established throughout the first third of the film are revealed to be not quite who you thought they were, the suspense becomes unbearable, and a surprising, twisty mystery begins to unravel surrounding the attacks. Who is conducting the attacks? For what purpose? The cameras never lie...
