“The boy holds his brother's life in his hands” this is told to Dr Joshua Scout as he is handed the file on his new patient. A seventeen year old boy who has locked the events of his parents murder deep within his mind, suppressing it from even his own recollection. With his older brother, the only other witness, but also the main suspect, the only way to uncover the truth is for Scout to perform mind recursion on the boy, a process involving the reflection of memories within themselves using the Droste Effect. ”A broken mind is like a riddle” says Scout. “Hidden within a riddle is the key. The key to unlock the secret. The key to unlock the answer". Scout has performed many mind recursions before, but nothing can prepare him for what he will face when he delves into the enigma that is this young man's mind. Will he discover the horrific truth behind this murder or will his own inner demons tear him apart.
