London: late in the nineteenth century.
British Archaeologist, Sir Arthur Templeton has failed to return from a three-year expedition to Brazil.
A theft at the Royal Geographic Society provides Padme, Sir Arthur’s beautiful and headstrong daughter, with a small and ancient box, which she believes holds the key to finding him. Padme enlists the help of Simon Drake, an ex-pat Brit, to help her negotiate the Brazilian rainforest. Upon her arrival in Rio de Janeiro, it is apparent that Drake is not the only one expecting her. Padme and Drake flee into the Brazilian hinterland and discover the legendary “Musical Waterfall” and the key, which unlocks the box.
It isn’t long before they realise that unlocking the box is just the beginning of even more complex problems, and travel to Shamballa: The Inner Earth, to solve the mystery and avert a crisis of global proportions.
Meanwhile, an elite group of terrorists headed by the feared Muller, is closing in on Padme and Drake. Narrowly avoiding capture by Muller's henchmen, they travel through South America, India and Tibet, unlocking secrets of the Aztecs and Incas, gathering clues from Vedic Indian manuscripts, and encountering a secret group of assassins, who are determined to stop Padme and Drake at all costs.
