Martine, an amateur film maker, buys a camera and finds that it manipulates reality with disastrous results. The camera is bought from a second hand store, selling exotic curios and items with ominous histories. It is sold to her with a warning. Eager to put it to use, she organizes a weekend away with friends at her family’s isolated beach house. Martine entrusts the camera to a friend for the afternoon and some footage is recorded of her mates having fun. That night, Martine reviews the footage and finds some disturbing changes: the footage of her friends mucking around has been warped. Emotions and actions have been intensified on the playback. Fights have broken out, cheating love has blossomed and death has pitched in. The peaceful weekend away becomes a struggle for Martine to keep her friends alive as the terrible events depicted by the camera start taking their place in reality. The camera is altering reality. Life is imitating art....
