Winter was a resentment to her mother before she was born. A target of her mother’s anger and frustration because of her own misguided choice.
From the Gang ridden streets of South Auckland, Levi. Extremely introvert struggles to come out about his sexuality. Levi is bullied and brutally bashed.
Faiths life is taken from her in one night of meaningless pleasure. Feeling she has no purpose to life.
Angel moves out of home to live with her boyfriend, drops out of school and hits the parties, drugs and sex.
Angels younger sister, Harmony is destined to follow in her older sisters footsteps, and as a result is gang raped.
Based around the lives of 6 young teens from the eastern bay of plenty area, in the central north island of Aotearoa.
Silent cry’s, takes you on a journey into the lives of 6 teenage friends, seeing through their eyes the very real life issues that push our teenagers to not only contemplate suicide, but to actually follow through with the very act of taking their own lives. Shedding light on the severity of this issue within the bay of plenty. written, Produced, directed, and cast by 6 b.o.p locals who all have lost or know someone who has lost a friend, a son, a daughter, a grandchild, niece or nephew to this very Silent Cry for help.
This film has come together in memory of those children who so desperately sort no other way out of their circumstances but to end the precious gift that was, their very existence, their Life. To honour both them, their families and friends while bringing into awareness the issues and the effects suicide has on our communities as a whole.
