Set in rural New Zealand, Taniwha tells the story of Rewa, a young girl with a vivid imagination. As a way of hiding from her angry, abusive father Rewa imagines that he is the Taniwha Ngārara Huarau that she learnt about from her Koro. But when people start to go missing round town, the line between imagination and reality starts to blur.
