A “Starscreen Productions” film
Written by Daniel Struthers
A group of OE travelers find themselves caught up in one of the most frightening operational experiences in New Zealand.
It was supposed to be Jake and Rachel’s trip of a lifetime in New Zealand. After signing up for a rural farm experience Jake and Rachel soon discover their last stop for this journey may be on this farm. After going no where fast the kids realise that something very wrong is going on and the amazing farm adventure seems to become the worst day of their lives. They begin to understand that the whole farm operation is designed to collect something. However there’s only one slight problem. There doesn’t appear to be any animals on this farm.
Set in rural Taihape in what seems promoted as a cool kiwi farm experience draws back to an old abandoned farm, set up by five ex farmers who decide that making money through the old traditional methods doesn’t seem to cut it in today’s financial market.
The farmers’ schematically set plan to lure young naïve foreigners into the hands of experienced farm junkies seems to be working well and the travelers can’t make out what they are needed for. There is big money to be made so it seems. With an overseas demand coming from parts of Asia and Russia the big bidding wars for top commodities sky rockets. With failing stocks and natural disasters resources are scare, the horse meat as dog food isn’t enough to make a return. The farmer’s sick intuitive nature goes into overdrive.
This year is going to be a good season. Oh and look the kiwi dollars on the rise again how convenient.
Let the harvesting begin.
