Octogenarian Pat Parker has only ever had one dream, to become a stand up comic. Unfortunately life and circumstance has always conspired against him realising his dream.

With the bombshell that he has only weeks to live Pat decides to make a pilgrimage to the New Zealand Comedy Gala for one last hoorah. Stopping at pubs and town halls along the way to hone and perform his show 'The Worlds Fastest Comedian', Pat touches the lives of all he meets.

With the whole nation now caught up in Pat-fever he prepares for the night of nights, but will his heart hold out, or will Death have the last laugh.
