A young Icelandic worker just moved with is pregnant new Zealand wife into the capital of New Zealand, for a new job.
A couple of hours later, after she left into Town for Baby gymnastic, something like an earthquake is shaking Dagur under the shower and stops the water from coming out of the tab.
No Phone service, the power comes and goes, the radio is just sending noise and chopped sentences of something like an explosion in town. He goes on the top of the hill in his neighbourhood and witnesses another big explosion in the centre of town, just next to another already burning Skyscraper.
The explosion sets gas free and makes people getting unconscious. They are lying around everywhere in town and breath heavy. The becoming father tries immediately to drive into town to look after his wife, but police blocks all accesses and makes it impossible to come into town.
Back at his house, neighbors running around in panic, packing things into their cars and tell him that the Radio said, government called out the evacuation of the whole City. The reason is chaos and riots in town and the dirty bombs with an unknown gas in it. Government don’t know the consequents of it and believe it’s the first Terror attack on New Zealand soil and expect more of it. Boats and Planes are also ready to clear whole Wellington.
Dagur prepares himself and his cellar with access through a trapdoor, to stay there for the night alone and to wait for his wife, just in case she would come back.
12 Hours later he decides to go into the dead zone of the empty city to find his wife.
