Young Grace Fisher and her boyfriend Luke while walking through a farmers market with their friends pass by an antique stall where an old middle eastern vase catches Graces eye.
Intrigued she eagerly reaches over the table, picks it up and opens the lid before the antique dealer can stop her. Looking into the vase she gasps in terror and collapses breaking it.
Panicked the dealer orders the group of friends to retrieve the pieces as he franticly gathers them into a box .Handing the box to Luke he solemnly urges him to put the vase back together imediately before its dark curse renders the one who breaks it to live their nightmares untill it is made whole again.
Grace wakes to find herself at a remote farmhouse in rural New Zealand with no recollection of the incident.
Though comforted by Luke and her friends all is not what it seems to beas Grace is totally unaware she has slipped into a coma where her own personal nightmare will unfold.
What happens Inside and outside Grace's coma drasticaly alters all their lives in horrifying ways as the the curse takes hold of a creation embedded deep in Graces subconscious and comes to life.
As the evidence of the curse becomes evermore apparent, Luke heeds the words of the antique dealer though he himself has fallen prey to its evil suddenly realises there is a piece missing. A battering and bloody search for the missing piece leaves Luke faced with the proposition of doing the unthinkable to save Grace and himself from an evil whose name they will remember forever.
