Romantic Comedy is one of the most painfully formulaic movie genres. In the last couple of 48Hours competitions we’ve had fun messing with those genre conventions, first with Confessions of a Fabricator and this year with Headshot. Whether it’s a tender love story between a man and his sock, or one devastatingly awkward moment a pretty girl must endure, we’ve found that a simple spin on what people expect from a Rom-Com can wield unexpected laughs.

We’d like to take that idea one step further and make a feature-length, idiotvision-style romantic comedy. It’ll actually be funny, it'll actually be romantic... and most likely it'll be adult-level content.

Participating in 48Hours has taught us how to execute good ideas fast. With that in mind, we want to incorporate the spirit of MakeMyMovie into the actual filmmaking process.

What we WILL do: come up with a premise but remain open to suggestions from supporters, even posing questions throughout production (via facebook and the MMM web series) so people can offer suggestions and have input into the film itself.

What we WON’T do: disclose any of the creative decisions we make so that come premiere time, the audience gets to watch something funny and different, AND train-spot for any lines or elements they might have contributed.
