Big Bob and Tiny, two extremely obese men in their forties, escape from hospital where they are both being treated for obesity and heart conditions. They plan to go out with a bang by borrowing a car from Big Bob’s car sales yard and heading to the most famous burger shop in all of New Zealand, Dangerfield’s Burgers in Invercargill. There they’ll have the DeathBy Burger, which will definitely kill them.
What money they have is soon used up on petrol, and only fruit and vegetables can be gotten by quick fingers and quicker gas pedals. Mourning the lack of carbohydrates, they soon learn they are a news item – and that their escapades have made them an internet sensation.
They abandon the car and stow away in the back of a delivery van, owned by Barbara, a lady in her forties, who locks them in and rings the police.
With the police closing in, can Tiny and Big Bob woe her over to their side to avoid capture? Can they make Invercargill and the DeathBy Burger and go out on their terms, or will their hearts give out from all the pressure?
