A sudden, violent zombie apocalypse descends upon New Zealand overnight. Max (girl) and Artie (guy) meet on the outskirts of Auckland whilst escaping its imminent carpet bombing, courtesy of the well armed yet unknown entity. Max, ruthless, insensitive, damn good looking and frankly somewhat psychotic finds herself stuck with a sensitive, moral, religious, nerdy, overly nice momma’s boy. As they stroll across rural New Zealand the pair’s personalities clash in the violent atmosphere of the spreading zombie apocalypse. It looks to be the destruction of them both till the intervention of a large, bubbly rural women and her Volkswagen van. Hilarity, violence and heartbreak ensues as the trio travel cross country in search of escape or just something better as the immediate novelty of the zombie apocalypse wears off.
