Ravens feast on the flesh of a dead white horse deep in a mist filled forest. In the reflection of it's lifeless eyes something unspeakable moves amongst the trees.
After the passing of his wife and with the insistence of his son, Alan Chevalier, an 80 year old retired atheist professor of Theology, moves into a secluded retirement hospital. A hospital originally built to house a monastery for some of the first settlers in New Zealand. While he tries settle into his new life, he is troubled by a suspicious acting staff, and dark dreams that keep him awake at night.
As Alan attempts to uncover what's truly happening at the retirement home, he is forced to question everything he believes about religion and reality. When the doctors doctors begin to feed him pills, people begin to change around him and he finds his nightmares walking the wooded grounds. Alan must summon the strength to fight for his sanity and face the demons that torment him.
