A group of international students hike deep into the heavily wooded ranges of a national park, and plan to stay the night. They are an Italian couple with issues, a Korean guy fresh out of military service. 2 kiwi ex-pats and 2 German girls.
They are in the middle of partying up with a bonfire and food and drink when a group of bush hunters and their dogs come in from the dark with their fresh kills.
At first the group is unsure of these stoic kiwi blokes with their blood, guns, knives and ‘killer’ dogs, but when a fresh pig is prepared and roasted on the fire a peace seems to have been made.
The Italian girl tries to make a point to her Gucci wearing, tablet using boyfriend about what a ‘real’ man is and both confuses and arouses one of the hunters, who decides to take her up on her offer and drags her into the hut. The protestations of the international students turn violent with terrible results.
