Drug trials are a great way to make a little money on the the side if you've got time to kill. But what if someone isn't in it for the money, but has something else entirely as their agenda...

12 Test subjects have been chosen for the human trials of a new drug for sleeplessness. The participants are given a number (from 1 to 12) and are confined to a large room in a clinic. They range from people wanting the money, to bored science students. Their actions are recorded on CCTV and they have no contact with the person/ persons conducting the trial. The participants are also expected to talk to a camera in a side room to explain any changes in their feelings, to discuss any possible side effects, paranoia and/or hallucinations.

All seems to be going as planned, when one of the participants (7) starts raving about what they are seeing whilst talking to the camera in the side room. They are having visions of one of the other participants (9) brutally and sadistically torturing and killing the other participants. Is it for real? Is it a premonition? Has the trial awakened something in one of the participants? Is it 7 or 9 who is the killer? Are the confessions even being recorded? And who is conducting the trial?
