HARRY, the leader of a weather station in Antarctica, risks his life when one of his crew goes out in a huge storm. Harry finds MAC carrying a small box uncovered by the storm. They get back to base safely but to Mac’s disappointment Harry won’t open the box. Mac is desperate to see what ‘he’ scored but is told no.
Harry puts the box into the safe but Mac follows him and notes the code. When Harry has left, Mac opens the box to find an ancient amulet and a small notebook. Mac hears someone approaching and slings the amulet around his neck, puts the notebook and box back in the safe and returns to his room unnoticed.
Over the next week Harry notices strange things happening to Mac - his personality changes and he seems to grow in strength and speed. This coincides with supernatural phenomena in the base. Harry locks Mac into isolation when Mac assaults one of the crew during an argument.
When Harry finds the chopper sabotaged he radios for help. As soon as he’s finished the call the radio cuts off. Mac is there holding the ripped cabling. He now seems a different being – he’s been possessed by an ancient demon.
The demon tells Harry that he’s locked them all in and that he plans to torture and kill all the crew for kicks as he waits for help to arrive. He’ll then head back to civilization where he can exact holy hell on the world. The demon disappears as the power goes down.
As the temperature drops below freezing, Harry and the crew have to survive both a supernatural killer and the most dangerous environment on earth.
