Obsessed with the need to redeem himself by confronting the devil, a disgraced priest convinces a group of outcasts to go deep underground. But when the explorers meet their very own doppelgangers, they realise that the evil they must destroy is a vengeful version of themselves.

It is the year 1883, deep in the remote New Zealand bush Father Melvin a disgraced priest who promises redemption assembles a team of outcasts -a disabled veteran soldier, an alcoholic lawyer and a superstitious Maori gold miner to help him in his mission to confront the devil. Descending down through a mine entrance, they dynamite their way into an underground cave system but as the group start to loose confidence in Melvin’s erratic behaviour and on the verge of mutiny they are shocked when they meet their very own doppelgangers.

These familiar strangers are identical in almost every way but they hail from an interior parallel earth. These mirror men have also embarked on the very same journey but with a very different and twisted purpose. Deep in the caverns, each of our subterranean explorers will have to confront his very own devil, and discover the frightening truth about the duality of man. Not for the squeamish…
