Infringement

When a laissez faire busker gets one too many traffic infringements, he takes it on himself to bring the inhibitors of his freedom to personal account for their pernicious deeds.

A “James Crompton” FILM
WRITTEN BY James Crompton

Joe Conder is a laissez faire busker, with a dis-taste for bureaucracy. After some mounting traffic violations, an unfair bus lane infringement incites him to make a stand. In a six-month ordeal, he is brought to his wit’s end dealing with the hypocrisy inherent in our traffic infringement corporation. When he is fined for having no warrant or registration after his car breaks down, even after the police themselves have promised him a reprieve, Joe is pushed over the edge. Thus begins his descent into madness.

He begins a gruesome killing spree taking revenge on all things infringement related. He becomes an antihero, with large factions of the public identifying with his plight against “The Man”. Facebook and Twitter buzz with people in support of his particular style of vigilante justice. His trail of murders culminates in an attack on the hub of the Infringement Department, where he takes the place hostage, destroying all records.

Joe then has one final axe to grind. A certain infringement officer, who in a previous encounter has sickened him with his lack of soul, is put through his paces in a scenario identical to one he enforced upon Joe. With people’s lives on the line, which will he chose - to break the law, or kill the innocent?
