In 1863 a Colonial plan to secure a British win in the New Zealand wars goes to hell when a new and unconventional weapon is released prematurely. With the land wars at full fury the undead rise against both sides.

When Corporal Tom Hunter and his fellow soldiers arrive on New Zealand shores to be greeted by a zombie horde, they must plunge into the bush to escape the undead threat and find their colonial army base.

Meanwhile Te Kimiti leads his band of fierce and feared Maori warriors against colonial soldiers and the undead alike.

Will the colonial and Maori forces be able to fight together to survive the undead scourge or will the walking dead win the war?
