On a trip deep into the New Zealand bush, a group of friends stumble upon a strange, hidden-away town, populated with bizarre inhabitants. Chased deeper into the thick forest, they discover an ancient and sinister secret, from which even death provides no escape.

In 1978 New Zealand, two sisters set off on a trip with a few friends for a weekend trip into the bush. En route, a mysterious Ranger stops them and warns of a recent volcanic event, ordering them to turn back. Undaunted, they find another way around and begin their hike.
As their trek unfolds, the group begins to encounter booby-traps and weird unnatural phenomena. Their concerns growing, they stumble upon a hidden-away town, populated with strange people who seem stuck in a time long past. It quickly becomes apparent that the friends are in danger, and they are pursued deeper into the forest, terrorized by bizarre inhabitants of the bush. The worst is still yet to come, when they discover the terrifying truth of what is hidden... deep in the woods.
